Southeastern Indiana Musicians Association 2024 Hall of Fame Ceremony and Awards Concert Announced

 

The Southeastern Indiana Musicians Association (SEIMA) announces its annual Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony and Concert will be taking place on Saturday November 2nd 2024 at the Gibson Theatre in Batesville 6pm. The awards show will feature live performances and a night of story-telling by hosts and inductees. This year’s event will feature performances by Nashville Recording Artist Vince Moreno and his Dance Hall Duo, along with performances by our SEIMA Project Winners! This year’s ceremony marks a special celebration inducting musicians and music educators for the class of 2024.

The 2024 Hall of Fame Inductees are: Educators: Justin Selmeyer and Marilyn Cook Booker, along with Musicians: Alvin Wilhelm, John Brown, Tony Brown, Troy Brown, Bill Hinds, Steve Brooks, Gary Norman, Billy McIntosh, Jim Wendell, Jim Hutson.

 “This event is truly a celebration of local music, exemplary musicians, and a tremendous opportunity to increase community awareness and support of our SEIMA Project,” said Brian DeBruler (SEIMA board member).  

In addition to its annual Hall of Fame inductions promoting the area’s rich musical heritage, SEIMA has made tremendous strides with their SEIMA Project for 2024. The SEIMA Project is a local music endowment grant to help inspire young musicians ages 14-19 looking to further a career in music. The SEIMA Project presented its second-year recipient awards in July 2024. Proceeds from the event go to the fund, and continued efforts to promote local music awareness, local music appreciation and music education efforts for the future of local music in each of the 5 counties they represent, Dearborn, Ripley, Franklin, Ohio, and Switzerland.

Advance tickets (not required but encouraged) are available for $10 each plus a $1 service fee on the Southeastern Indiana Musician’s Association website and will be emailed directly. Walk up general admission is also available at the Gibson Theater Box Office that day for $15. All proceeds go to funding the SEIMA Project Arts Endowment Community Grant.
